Beat the Marines
The Marine Detachment on Sint Maarten organises an annual military sports event on December 10th called Beat the Marines, this sports event is held at the boardwalk in Philipsburg. Beat the Marines started in 2015 in order to celebrate the 350th birthday of the Dutch Marines founded in 1665. The event was such a huge success that they decided to organise the event every year.
